Seasons

I like that we have 4 very different seasons in Eastern Ontario. I made a pledge at the beginning of 2010 not to complain about the weather for a year. It was sort of a metaphor for not complaining about things I could not change but taking it quite literally has helped me do just that.
I love winter for a few reasons. I love that we can slow down a little, go sledding, make forts, wear comfy clothes and drink Hot chocolate 3 times a day. Like the Christmas decorations, out come the frosty mugs. My kids know that with outside playtime comes warm chocolate in the frosty mugs.
It is THESE moments that I cherish. Just as I will remember their rosey cheeks and cute little button noses when I pull out the mugs 20 years from now, I hope they too remember and feel the love that was poured into them.

That is a cold, adorable little face. We always had personal mugs too, and the kids loved the hot chocolate times. When they come in from the cold, kiss those sweet cheeks and remember how good they smell because they grow up way too fast.

And I'm sure they will always remember the love and hugs; you're a great mom.
