It's my Life and I like it this way

Here we go...more Real Life photos of my life. Here we go...Check out Jessica's site for more participants.

1) Curb Appeal....Here is our house from the road as you approach from one side. Both levels have 10-12 foot ceilings so it appears MUCH more grand on the outside. It really is not as big as it seems.
See how tall our 100 year old maple trees are? The east lawn is quite bare as it used to be a farmers field. My chickens inhabit the back part....you can see a glimpse of them under the trees on the right hand side. Next year we are going to plant some flowering trees right in the middle of the lawn.

This is the view from the driveway. That white porch is my dream tea room that will be fixed up in two years. It will be where I hold my girly tea parties and where my Dad can sit and watch trains all day in the Valley. That tree that is in front of the window?? It flowers in late summer. It is beautiful. My internet desk is right behind it. Token mini van in the driveway, with my laundry hanging of course.

The field behind our house allows us a fire pit. The tree in front of me is hiding the ugly outdoor wood burning furnace at the end of our driveway. We are hoping to build a garage in front of it in a few years.

See the shade the Maple trees give us? They create such a thick canopy that at all times in the summer we have a shaded area. Makes a huge difference.

This is the view of our side lawn from my kitchen. The old windmill is kind of an eyesore. The tree line is our 'magical forest' that separates us from the neighbors and keeps the wind at bay a little.

This is my chicken yard behind the house and to the east.

2) Junk Drawer... I'm not letting you get closer. It is embarrassing. Notice the green bin waiting to be brought out to the van, and the cereal/milk still on the counter. Hey I have better things to do....like take pictures.

This is the OTHER Junk Drawer in the kitchen. Shhhhh this one is a secret.

3) My Blogging Station....This in my computer desk. It is in the living room.
This is what the view looks like today. You can see the barn across the street that holds Young dairy cows waiting to be old enough for the 'big barn'. That is also how close we are to the road. We toboggan on the other side of the barn.

4) My best feature.... Inside...even if I don't agree with you I'll still try hard to see your side of the story. Outside...I like my smile/teeth. I've never had a cavity, and the thousands of dollars spent on braces I think paid off....thanks Dad

6) Favorite Jewelery...A Jade necklace given to me when I was 8. I love it.

That's it. Now you know a little more about me and my life here in the country. Thanks for stopping by.

Wonderful blog!!! You do have gorgeous teeth! Mine used to be incredibly white until I had kids. Then for some reason they changed?!

Anyway, I also love your little jade necklace and your house is GORGEOUS!!! I love the woodwork inside (by your comp. desk).

What a beautiful home! I love the plans you have for it too.

I love that you can just let your chickens out during the day...do you have to lock them up every night?

Terrific smile for sure!

So glad you could come play!

I LOVE the history behind your house, that is SO cool! I had goats at my last house and plans for chickens but we aren't allowed where we live now. Someday. :)
