The REAL reason we moved to the farm ;)

I came home today from Bible study and found my husband in the backyard creating a window in the door to my chicken coop for me. I don't know what it is....but when I see him doing manly work I LOVE IT!!!! It is just so...manly. I knew we moved here for a reason ;)

See the great job he did?

I am going to paint the coop all pretty this summer so it does not look so old. I'll get your opinions on another post.

So the afternoon was spent in our yard with the cousins playing baseball and visiting the cows in the barn.

I managed to capture some great shots of all 6 of them. They will definitely be used against them when they are older. Especially the one of Lara and her boy cousin holding hands. They will hate me for it later I'm sure.

These are my favorite shots of the day.

Action shot

This is a shot from my window. That is a Blue Jay. If I could wake up and see this every morning I would never...ever be in a bad mood. This shot almost makes me want to get up at 5am to go for a run....ALMOST.

This is Erin eating playing in the old fall leaves. Man that kid loves to get dirty. This of course is her NEW WHITE shirt just before she took a bath in the mud. I love her...I do.

If you are confused and wondering why all these shots look like the FALL, it is because all the snow has melted, the trees are just budding, and some brilliant person (ahem) told me in the spring most of the leaves would be gone and so taking the time to rake them with a lawn mower would be a waste of time. Again....(ahem).

I can't wait till my hubby starts demolishing our new house to get ready for the renos. He'll come home all sweaty and dirty....I need a moment....

I'm always amazed that I still need to rake in spring even though we've done it in fall! But I can only imagine how much worse it would be if we didn't!!

Looks like your youngest daughter is EXACTLY like mine! I just can't keep her out of the mud. Which is why I never dress her in nice clothes at home. (I'm pretty sure both my girls have exactly that same white shirt ~ which they never wear because I'd like for them to stay pretty for at least a little while!)
