Barn Fire Update

Yes it is my In-Laws Barn. A Heritage 1860's Dairy Barn...and their lively hood.
Lost all the cows...rescued the family Dog.

My FIL is doing O.K. I don't think it has really sunk in yet. The fire Marshall is still there, and today they are cleaning up the smoldering debris.

They Need to separate the cows from the metal before everything is bulldozed. THAT I am NOT taking pictures of.

We live 400 meters down the road in our home. The fire was so hot it burnt the hydro poll and the power had to be shut down. Power is back on now.

As I keep gulping back the lump in my throat, I'll just say thanks for posting the pics and story.

I'm so sorry for your family's loss. That's quite the understatement to say some things are going to change around there "a bit!"

What a clean-up job. Ugh.

Oh, I am so, so sorry for your family's loss. What a dreadful thing to have happen to anyone, but especially with such a history, and dependency. It can be so hard to remember the blessings, but I am grateful you didn't mention any loss of human life. At least your father-in-law is alive and well. Please take heart, from one farming family to another, in what I'm sure will be difficult times ahead.
