The evolution of painting in my house

Painting when I had ONE CHILD...
I sit down with Lara for some quality time ;)

"Oh good colours Lara...what did mommy draw?...an A? your right!! oh here, let me pull your sleeves up."

Painting when I had TWO CHILDREN...

I supervise while the two of them have fun together and add an encouraging word.

" Oh very nice Lara. Good for you for not getting paint anywhere. Nice picture. Did you spell your name? Oh here Erin, let me pull your sleeves up so you don't get all messy"

Painting now that I have THREE Children...

I get them all set up and the baby wakes up from his nap dirty and hungry.

"You girls paint nicely while I run up and grab your brother...Erin keep your hands off the wall hunny."

(I'm now nursing Peyton in the next room and Erin goes running by)

Where are you going Erin? To wash your hands? oh good girl thanks...

Erin takes several trips to the bathroom to clean a little paint off her hands...

Look mom, now I'm mixing all the colours with my hands and it makes brown!!

Mom! Erin got paint on her shirt!!!

That is o.k, I'll change her after

Mom we are done!

O.K let me just put Peyton down and I'll get a cloth.

That is o.k mom, we are all cleaned up....

What do you mean you are all clean?
We washed up in the bathroom.

oh...o.k.

I look at the kids and they are remarkably clean considering now they are naked.
Then I follow the path from the table down the hall to the bathroom and notice the paint trail....then I look into the bathroom.

Then I spend the next 30 minutes wiping up the paint that is on the walls, the bathroom sink, the floor, the WHITE TOWEL, and find where they stashed their clothes that are full of paint. Oh,and I cleaned up ALL the water I just stepped on in the bathroom... Not to mention the table itself and all the painting tools.

phew!! all done and clean....

what did they paint again??

Arianna had a marker to do her mazes until I found more drawing on James than in her maze book!

And you want to come and do some painting with 5 kids?!

You captured this PERFECTLY. I was laughing the whole way through with tears running down my face by the time I got to the end. I HATE paint!
