Vicks Vapo Rub Miracles

Lara has had a nasty cold since Easter. It has just seemed to linger on and on and on. She had double ear infections and then seemed to get a virus on top of that, and her clear runny nose and annoying dry hacking in the middle of the night cough has not seemed to go away. This is not like her as she is normally so healthy so I've been starting to get a little worried.
My middle of the night awake sessions were definitely being helped by listening to her dry hack every night at 3am.
Since Erin shares a room with her also, this house was starting to get a case of the crankies.
My point is that this cough was just lingering....on and on and on.

However!!!

Yesterday I heard from THREE seperate people to try massaging Vicks Vapo Rub on her feet, put socks on her and send her to bed. Now I am all for trying things that don't involve medication, so why not???

WELL!!!!! Lo and Behold!!!!! It is 6am, I woke up at 5am well rested ( only got up once to pee) and my baby is STILL sleeping after a night of complete silence!!!!

Thank you Lord for that. Even Adam felt rested and was going to get up at 5am with me to go for an early morning run. ( Not me....Him)
O.K so we are just enjoying our morning tea in silence with the sunrise instead. But how nice!

I think I am going to buy Stock in that company.

Oh...and I woke up to one contraction last night (when I went to pee). But no...nothing yet. We have a lawyers appointment for the house today, so maybe the baby is waiting until that is over. Maybe Peyton is such a sweet loving mama's boy that he wants me to complete all my appointments before he graces us with his presence. What a nice boy...so thoughtful

I've heard about the Vicks Vapor Rub on feet, but I've always discounted it. But after reading this, I'm going to have to try it! I'm glad you all had a better night.

I hope everything goes well at the lawyer's office today.

My dad was a big supporter of Vicks vaporub, though never on the feet! I have many memories of he and mom rubbing it onto my chest and back when sick as a kid...I still use it and swear by it. I wonder what the deal with the feet is?
