I love living here

I love the country. I really do. I don't love it when our neighbors burn plastic in their outdoor furnace but that is for another time. I do love the abundance of activities that can be done outside. I was feeling as though we kind of suck at this country living stuff. We don't own a snowmobile, ATV, above ground pool or cross country skis. In fact, we don't have much equipment at all. Some day...Some day we will be 'living the dream', or my dream anyway.
For now we must appreciate and feel blessed to have neighbors that offer the use of THEIR gigantic ice rink created in their yard. Have I mentioned that it was gigantic? Pretty cool.
So...I guess if the energy/time/money to do something like this for our kids is not here yet we can appreciate being surrounded by those who can. So for today...this was our rink...our life and it was a great life....IS a great life.

I'm with you on the outdoor skating. We've been going to the rink in our park at least once a week and often more. I LOVE that it's free and we're outside! Your neighbour's rink is insane! It looks Olympic size!

That is incredibly cool! How much fun that must be.

What an amazing rink! You are so right about life passing you by when you least expect it. Bec. of bone density problems, I'm not allowed to strap on the blades any more. . . can't push my luck with the falling thing. . . :( Thanks - I needed to whine about it to someone. . . .

P.S. Yay that you do not own a snowmobile, an ATV (heaven forbid), or an above-ground pool.

Sounds like you had a wonderful time on that outdoor rink! That would be so awesome...a dream come true for my hockey playing little boy! But Texas doesn't get much opportunity for that kind of activity much, although we have some friends that attempted it a few weeks ago...Enjoy!!
