Participated in our first Homeschooling Group activity this past week.
Our first adventure was a trip to UPPER CANADA VILLAGE. For those of you who don't know, it is a living museum that is an actual village....but what a village would be in the year 1866. It was amazing. Mainly because we live in a home that was constructed in the 1860's in a village that would have looked just like it back then. It was like Anne of Green Gables meets, ummm I don't know. But whatever. I just wanted to live there.
See? This is just one of the farm houses all intact and pretty. The summer kitchen is in full use, and the lady was in there cooking chicken on the wood stove. So cool to see it in use!!!
Our second activity was the ANNUAL NOT GOING BACK TO SCHOOL PICNIC. Normally it is held on the first day of school for obvious reasons, but this year it was held on the Sunday after the first week for not so obvious reasons. It was fun. It was nice to get to know other homeschoolers in the area.
So...first week of homeschooling over and done. I am pleasantly surprised how fast Lara completed her work, and even happier that we were able to do something different. I am not as refreshed as I was, but still glad I made the choice to homeschool.

How fun! That house looks AWESOME!!!! :) We have been home schooling for over 2 weeks now and it is going soo well! Madelyn is done with her work in 1-2 hrs. Most of it is still review etc. right now...and I know that some days will be longer and some shorter than others....but it is really great how she can learn and grow and then play!!! :)
