The Church Social

I attended my very First small town church dinner this weekend.

You see....in the country Folks like to eat, and the Churches love to put on suppers.
I think also, since Farmers spend most of their time working on their own farms, they like any excuse to get together and gossip chat.

You know the ones. They are always advertised in the local paper. "Roast Beef supper, 6$/plate".

I've always wanted to go, but I've always been afraid to venture into an unknown church or hall, and sit with a bunch of folks I've never met to have a meal.

WELL!!

Little did I know how much I have been missing out!!

You see...It is MAPLE SYRUP season around here, so what better intro to the social than pancakes !?!

So here it is. The long tables, and friendly...friendly old ladies that are more than happy to help undress 3 kids and find booster chairs.

And the syrup! Oh the REAL MAPLE SYRUP slopped on the pancakes. And the Sausages! I think I ate enough for a year.

Even the little guy got in on the action. This is a very happy baby who just discovered Maple Syrup...and pancakes.

After the Pancake Breakfast we headed to the LOCAL SUGAR BUSH to introduce our kids to TAFFY, and Buy from our Local Producer.

I'll Tell you about it Thursday. Thank you Lord for creating Maple Trees and putting us in the middle of them. Seriously... Thank you.

Good for you, Alyson!!! I've always been tempted to attend those as well, but so far, I've been chicken. And what would the people from my own denomination think if they saw me walking in or out of a different denomination's church??!! Oh, perish the thought!

Sounds like you had an awesome time! You are so lucky to live in maple syrup country!! You'd think it was imported or something, the prices we have to pay for it out here!!
