It was a very proud moment to watch Adam take the oath on the bible, and march up to receive his badge. I cried.
When it was his turn to be on parade in front of everyone, I marched right up there and took a picture. All of you military folk out there can picture it....the salute and the hand shake....and crazy civilian wife running up onto the parade square with the camera and getting right in there. That's right...I did it and I am happy I did. Protocol? what is that? What are they going to make me do? Drill? It was his moment...our moment and nobody was taking that away.
Anyway the head honcho Dude showed A LOT of class by letting me get right in there. I have to respect that. He waved me over and got the official photographer to take a family picture with the head honcho of the forces....on parade.
Sorry no pics of the parade. I have some amazing ones but my husband does not want pictures of him in his uniform on the Internet. Something about crazy people. That is also why I won't tell you the name of the force he is on.
You will just have to know that he looks amazing. Gotta love the uniform.
so proud....so proud.

It's too bad the world is such a messed-up place; I sure would have liked to see the pictures. You described the scene well, though! I'm betting those pictures get blown up and hung on the wall!!
Way to go! Thats awesome that you got right in there to take the picture. Hey, its a moment that only happens once, and one that needed to be captured forever.
That is soo awesome!!!! congrats! :)
What a proud and very happy day for you and your family Alison. Congratulations to your husband. This world needs good men and women, so whereever he is serving, they are fortunate. What a way to start 2008-congratulations one and all. And way to go on running right up there and getting that picture. Because at the end of the day, (or at the end of a 10/12 hour night shift), it is the love of family that supports the women and men in "blue". xx
Congrats again. Keep on being careful with pics and the net.
Wow! How very exciting! Congrats to your dear husband, and great job supporting him as he went for his dream! What a great wife!
I'm so glad he's home! And I too, love the uniform :)
How wonderful to be on the other side of this goal. I know it's been a long haul for both of you this fall. Congratulations to you both.
