There are seasons to life.
Seasons of prosperity and abundance and seasons of drought and hardship.
We were prepared for this time. Prepared for this trial in our lives. We chose the path an braced ourselves for the fall. We did not realize how much we would be tested during this time and what the good Lord would throw at us.
However we are coming through it with dignity, honor and a joyful attitude.
Three years ago when I was faced with my spinal tumor while pregnant with our second I learned how to accept help and ask when help was needed. I learned that it is o.k to need help and to accept it.
It has prepared me for this time. A time when I have needed to just accept that we need help. To ask for it. It is humbling...but necessary right now.
I am so grateful for the friends and family God has put in our path for this time. I am so grateful for their kindness and generosity and for allowing us to keep our dignity.
My friends and family have overwhelmed me with their support. Whether it be financialy, or calling to make sure I am o.k.
You know who you are....and you know that someday soon we will give back to you and to others the Love and generosity the Lord has poured onto us.
Christmas is about giving....it is hard when you are in the situation that makes you the 'charity'....and even harder when you can't give back to those you love except to say THANK YOU.
Thank you...thank you...thank you.
Thank you for showing us what Christ's love FEELS like.

Learning to accept help is hard, that's for sure. Dang pride. But how wonderful to let go of that every now and again (either willingly or kicking and screaming all the way!), experience true community, and feel the blessing of family and friends who care.
You're obviously in a tough time right now and I don't know what your situation does, but God does. I will speak to Him on this matter.
Thank you so much for this post Alyson! I totally am right there with you! We too had to humbly accept something that was soo difficult to do..but was such a blessing! God is an amazing and wonderful provider and I am so glad that He reigns in my life!
So glad you got to recieve the love of christ through others generosity! Maybe someday, God willing, we will each be able to bless others as well! :) xoxo
