o.k all of you who are looking at this picture of me.
Yup that would be me about 4 times a day as I trek outside to check on the outdoor wood burning furnace.
I have to laugh at what I'm wearing for a couple of reasons.
First being that I love the outfit!! Really I do. I look ridiculous but really could not care less! I think it is just that I have matured and realized that practicality needs to trump cool. Kind of like my Dad's velcro shoes. Or it is just that I have let myself go? Maybe a little of both :)
The jacket...is the jacket I have made fun of for six years. It is my husbands...and it is ugly...and sooo warm and cozy...and I can get it dirty and full of smoke.
The hat...is also his. Fits over all my hair without giving me hat head and prevents the smoke from making me stink.
The gloves...Also his. I can grab anything with those things and not rip through them.
The boots...are mine. The best purchase I made last year. O.K so the white does not go so well with soot and chicken poop but they are really high, slip on easily and are good until -40C.
Laugh all you want. But I am already laughing at myself...and loving it.

Add a pair of ripped up old ski pants that are too small for hubby but fit me just fine and you've got the outfit I don every time I go for a walk!!!

Whatever it takes to stay warm, i say go for it.
oh my goodness....i love your way of looking at things..and i TOTALLY agree. It's about practicality now. We're mamas now..we aren't cool anyway...LOL. You look fabulous dah-ling.
