Best Day Ever!! Cause it involved food of course

I had the best day on Tuesday.

We went to the States to buy some running shoes since my fabulous hunky husband is heading off to police boot camp. I seriously had no idea that you can get a 200$ pair of running shoes for 89.99!!! That is insane! what about the free trade agreement? That is just a little too much mark up just for crossing a border.

So thank God we live so close to the border. We saved a bundle!!

Anyway on our little trip we were starving so we decided to stop for lunch before heading back across. Normally I can't stand doing the whole 'fast food' or chain restaurant thing. BUT!!!

We found a place called ummm I think it was 'Pancea?? Panchanco??'( A commenter just told me it is called PANERA BREAD) Anyway something like that. It was a 'chain like' food place in those new box store areas next to places like Old Navy and Target.

The kids menu .... Organic real grilled cheese served with Organic Horizon milk and organic yogurt...with a choice of real apple on the side!!! Wow are you serious??
and let's just say I had a grilled panini chicken sandwich with asiago cheese on bread they bake FROM SCRATCH every morning!!!

O.K THE BEST PART!!! was that the prices compared to MCD's and it was not tiny...it was really nice and packed full of people.

That place alone was worth the trip.

On to the rest of my fabulous day......

After our children had naps..yes all of them, we dropped them off at Grandma's. Adam and I took Peyton and we headed downtown for a RUN ALONG THE WATER!! Do you know the last time we have done that?? Let's just say we did not have kids. Anyway, Peyton went right to sleep in the jogging stroller like a good little boy and THEN afterwards we headed to the local pub for a beer and some fish and chips.

O.K a little counter productive but so much fun. We actually had a date. We spent time as a couple doing what we love to do together. It was so nice to remember that we are a couple and not just two people living together raising kids.

After all that I even got an UNSOLICITED back rub!! Ahhhh You would think it was my birthday.

Hmmmmm now that I think about it...I wonder what he is buttering me up for and how much it will cost :)

Oh!!! and to go along with my multiple baby theme....Some lady felt compelled to talk to me in the organic fast food place and tell me she was a homeschooling mom of seven and that it is wonderful!!! hello! what is going on here???

What runners did you buy? Great deal! Gotta love a great deal! I know my runners always cost me about 150 dollars, but I always have my eye on the 200 dollar ones lol!

Sounds like a WONDERFUL day! Congrats! Yay!

I would say eight is enough ;D

I'm so glad you had such a good day. How nice to also be able to spend time as a couple. Dave and I value any time we get by ourselves.

I hadn't thought of going to the States to buy things like runners, but what a good idea. I personally want to go down for some Bath & Body Works soap, but it seems like a long trip for just soap. But maybe if I had a longer shopping list...

Have a good day!
