Yesterday Lara woke up and decided she really wanted to take the money from her piggy bank and buy herself something at the toy store.
I took the opportunity for a little 'math' lesson and we sorted the coins/bills, and counted how much money she had saved up. After setting some aside to give away (a lesson in greed vs giving), we discovered she has collected over 20$ of change from around the house!!
Off to the toy store we went with Erin in tow. After much excitement and deliberation Lara decided that two mini barbies were better than one big one so her and Erin could play barbies together. Good girl. (o.k so I told her she should buy her sister a little something...but she did not complain)
We arrived home around 10:30am and they seriously played barbies ALL DAY!! They took a break to eat lunch/supper, but spent the day playing barbies in the living room. There was hardly even much fighting, and the stories they came up with were hillarious !
Neither of them napped (as long as they were getting along I let them play through nap) and they were in bed sleeping by 6:30pm!!!!
O.K so that is not a typical homeschooling day for us, but at least we got some math/ sharing/imagination in there :) I certainly did not mind resting my belly on the couch watching them :)
Today will be a little more of a 'normal' homeschooling day. After getting dressed and morning chores Lara will do her letter workbook and then we have Ballet at 10am. We will try to fit in some skating today (Adam is off) but that will be weather permitting.
Other than that today is lets spend as much time with Daddy as possible because he has been working too much day :)
